About BMCF

About BMCF “The thief comes only to take the sheep and to put them to death; he comes for their destruction. I have come so that they may have life and have it in greater measure.” (John 10:10)

Blessed Minority Christian Fellowship

We are a non-denominational Christian community – “open and affirming” -- intentionally welcoming to those most marginalized by church and society.  Whether you have already identified yourself as a Christian, or are interested in exploring your faith, we exist to serve and minister.

At BMCF, all may come to worship, serve, and grow spiritually - without regard to race, ethnicity, social class, age, gender/gender identity, or sexual orientation.

Our Name
In Chinese,「 BMCF 」(literally "Christ's Grace", pronounced "Gay yun") has the double meaning of Christ's grace as well as Christ's grace towards "gays"

How we started

BMCF is a fellowship initiated by a number of HK gay Christians. Instituted in July 1992, it evolved from the religious group of the "Hong Kong Ten Percent Club". In June 1996, BMCF is registered (under the HK Police Force) as a "not-profit" statutory body in HKSAR. The group is fully supported finanically by freewill offerings of the participants. Upon its inception, the meetings were in the format of monthly fellowship at rented venues, with approximately 35 participants. As BMCF developed, the attendance exceeded 100 at monthly fellowship meetings. When a more permanent venue was secured in October 1997, an assortment of meetings started.

At present, there are approximately 80 participants during the weekly worship services. BMCF also conducts choir practice, fellowship, recovery group, as well as irregular events such as study group for new Christians, bible study, retreat, evangelistic meeting, evangelistic camps, catering to the spiritual need of the participants.

BMCF also accepts interviews from different churches and educational institutes, with an aim to facilitate society's understanding of GLBT's.

To accomodate the growth of BMCF, the meeting place had been moved to a larger venue at Sheung Wan in both 2001 and 2005.

BMCF church

To the church, GLBT organizations and the society at large, we strive to bear witness of Jesus Christ's grace upon people of different sexual orientations.

To GLBT Christians, we strive to reconcile their faith with their sexual identity and orientation, and to faciliate greater self-acceptance.

BMCF subscribes to the Apostles' Creed to declare its faith:

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. AMEN.
