BMCF is a fellowship initiated by a number of HK gay Christians. Instituted at July 1992, it evolved from the religious group of the "Hong Kong Ten Percent Club". In June 1996, BMCF is registered (under the HK Police Force) as a "not-for-profit" statutory body in HKSAR. The group is fully supported finanically by offering from participants. Upon its inception, the meetings are in the format of monthly fellowship at rented venues, with approximately 35 participants. As BMCF developed, the attendance exceeded 100 at monthly fellowship meetings. Upon having a dedicated venue for meeting at October 1997, an assortment of meetings started.

At the present, there are approximately 80 participants during the weekly worship services. BMCF also hold choir practice, fellowship, recovery group, as well as irregular events such as study group for new Christians, bible study, retreat, evangelistic meeting, evangelistic camps, catering to the needs of the participants in providing spiritual support.

BMCF also accepts interviews from different churches and educational institutes, aiming to facilitate society's understanding of GLBT's.

To support the growth of BMCF, the meeting place was changed to a larger venue at Sheung Wan in both 2001 and 2005.
